The Physical Education department is extremely proud to offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities to all our students. The schedule provides countless opportunities for students to take part in physical activity at lunch, after school and even before school. Participation across all clubs is high and we encourage all students to be fully involved in the extra curricular life of the school. Clubs are delivered by teaching staff and specialist coaches throughout the year. These clubs support our PE vision to ensure all students develop a healthy relationship with sport and exerise and provide opportunities for students to build confidence and resilience whilest enhancing and/or learning new skills.
All of our clubs are ‘open to all’ but we also ensure we offer competitive sport alongside opportunities to compete in fixtures and represent LMS. We have a very strong record in Borough competitions competing against local schools in a variety of sports. We run a netball tour once a year, taking Year 7,8, 9 and 10 netball teams to compete in a national competition. We are incredibly grateful to have strong links with Fulham Reach Boat Club. We have been working with FRBC for a number of years and are keen to continue this. Since 2010 we entered, and were incredibly successful, at the global dance competition; Rock Challenge. This is now rebranded and we are looking forward to competing at our first Dance Live! event this year. Annually we are invited to Lord’s Cricket Ground to compete in the Lady Taverner’s indoor tournament. We have an excellent record in this event and it is a highlight of the year for our cricketers.
