At Lady Margaret School we have always requested an additional voluntary contribution from parents and carers to help fund activities which are not covered by our school budget. This fund is known as The Lady Margaret School Rose Fund.
With central government funding increasingly under pressure, The Rose Fund has become an essential source of ‘top up’ income for the school, as it enables us to provide the learning environment that we believe all our students deserve.
We would be delighted if you would consider giving towards The Rose Fund and help us continue our legacy of building a ‘goodly heritage’ for all of our students. Our preferred form of payment is a regular monthly donation. To donate please click on the button below.
How we use The Rose Fund
Donating to The Rose Fund means that 100% of our students can have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, clubs and trips across the areas of sport, music, drama, science, art and STEM.
Years 7 to 11
Some examples of the activities provided by The Rose Fund for students in years 7 to 11 are: rowing on The River Thames, cricket coaching, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, choirs and music ensembles, debate coaching, Jack Petchey’s “Speak Out” Challenge, Science Week, The Royal National Theatre Playwriting Club, The Magistrate’s Court Mock Trial Competition and the school newspaper ‘Her Ladies Voice’.
Sixth Form
For Sixth Form students The Rose Fund supports the Mental Health and Physical Wellbeing Programme which has been designed to develop confident young women who place their own physical and mental wellbeing at the heart of their studies. The programme enables students to develop new skills such as rowing, sewing and British Sign Language at the same time teaching practical skills like cooking for university and self-defence. The programme also puts an emphasis on yoga, mediation and stress relief in order to combat exam stress and keep our students healthy during their studies.
Whole School
The Rose Fund also supports the whole school by investing in facilities and resources. Recently equipment and resources were provided for Maths, English and Science and stage lighting was provided for the Drama department. The school library was completely refurbished in 2020 to become a library, resources and wellbeing centre, incorporating a new Chaplaincy facility.
To help us continue delivering activities and resources like this for 100% of our students, we would be delighted if you would donate to The Rose Fund. Our preferred form of payment is a regular monthly donation. To donate please click on the button below.
Student and Parent Testimonies
‘On Monday 15th July (2019), 7AH had an amazing opportunity to attend an exciting trip to Flip Out in Wandsworth followed by a picnic on Parsons Green as a special reward for winning Secret Student, My favourite part of the trip was spending time with my friends and having lots of fun!’ – Year 7 Student (2019/2020)
‘I am really enjoying stress relief as it a calming break during the school day. It is something I have never tried before and I think I will continue to use the techniques in my day to day life.’ – Year 12 Student (2019/2020), Stress Relief Course, Mental Health and Physical Wellbeing Programme
‘I feel so lucky to have had three daughters educated at LMS. The school does an amazing job. My daughters have been so happy and done so well. I cannot take such opportunities for granted. I want to support the school in order for LMS to be able to continue it’s good work for future generations of students.’ – Past and current Year 8 Parent (2020/2021)
‘We have two daughters at LMS, one in Y11 and Y9 (2019/2020) and we are so grateful for how hard everyone works to give all the girls at the school the best. We, too, are very grateful for the additional opportunities and activities that have been made available to our daughters because of The Rose Fund, which we know wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. By contributing to this fund we have seen one daughter explore her interest in DT by attending a Lego competition, the other daughter enjoys theatre trips and have the privilege of singing in St Paul’s Cathedral on two occasions, and both daughters enjoy school productions and many years competing in Rock Challenge, a dance competition with other schools around the country. Through the generous, and much needed, contributions from The Rose Fund both girls have been able to explore and enjoy their interests further which has had a hugely positive impact on their school experience. ’ – Current Year 12 and Year 10 Parents (2020/2021)

Donating to The Rose Fund
Donating to The Rose Fund is easy and there are a variety of ways to donate, ranging from a one-off cash donation to a monthly, quarterly or annual standing order from your bank account.
We prefer to receive a regular monthly donation from our parents and carers as this enables the school to plan a programme of activity for our students over the whole year.
How much should I donate?
Most of our parents donate through a regular standing order payment. Parents typically give between £10 to £100 per month with donations most commonly being in multiples of £20, £30 and £50 per month, per student. We also have some very generous parents who donate much higher sums either annually or monthly.
We are grateful for all donations we receive no matter how small or large they are. We also appreciate that not everybody is able to donate. All of our students benefit from The Rose Fund regardless of who donates or not.
Donate with Giftaid
Please Giftaid your donation if you are a UK Taxpayer. This will enable the school to claim 25p for every £1 donated. Only 37% of our donors use Giftaid and we are very keen to increase this percentage, for obvious reasons.
There are various ways to use Giftaid depending on how you donate. Please see below for further details.
