We've been celebrating our Centenary

Our 100th birthday was on Michaelmas, 29 September 2017.

Throughout the academic year 2017-18 we celebrated our Centenary. It was an exciting time in the school’s history; a chance to bring the wider school community together and strengthen the school. Whether you are a parent, Old Girl, former parent or member of staff or a local resident we hope you enjoyed it.

Royal Patron
We were honoured and delighted that HRH Princess Alexandra generously agreed to be Patron of our Centenary. Her patronage was particularly nostalgic as Her Royal Highness opened the newly built school hall in 1965.

Centenary Merchandise and Booklet
A range of Centenary merchandise including a bone china mug. notelets and tea towels designed by Old Girls is available to purchase at school events.

A 32-page, richly illustrated booklet (270 x 170 cms) entitled ‘Celebrating our Centenary’ (pictured) and written by a former Headmistress, Joan Olivier, is on sale (£6) with merchandise.  The booklet is available by post (+ £1.60 UK p&p, up to four copies).  Send your full postal address and number of copies required to Centenary@ladymargaret.lbhf.sch.uk

Creating Legacies
In acknowledging the past we will be creating legacies for future generations to enjoy by fundraising activities throughout the year. Our Centenary Garden, a £180,000 project, will provide much needed space and tranquility for pupils and the community alike and requires over £93,000 to complete it. There are plans for the Garden to be formally opened by the Right Reverend Sarah Mullally, Bishop of London, in September 2019.

We are also mindful of girls less fortunate than our own and have been supporting girls who have not had the same opportunities. The school charity chosen by pupils will be SACCA Rwanda that works to protect and rehabilitate children who have been living on the street as well as preventing them from reaching the streets in the first place.

Your Support
You may like to donate your time, expertise or money to our causes or come and speak to our girls.

To discuss any of these opportunities please make contact:

centenary@ladymargaret.lbhf.sch.uk  We look forward to hearing from you.
